Birthday party invitations for a little girl

Sometimes you just need those simple invitations cards for a birthday or a party. The party time collection is fantastic for those invitations.

I have created a set of 15 simple invitation cards for a birthday party. The cards have been made quite simple.

I have created three different cards, and five of each card. I have used the images from the Carousel (P2197) paper as images and some of the wooden embellishments from the collection.

For the first card, I have also used embossing powder, to create some effects on the background paper.

On the second card, I have used som string as a decoration, under the image..

The third card is simply decoratad with the wooden birthday text.

Christmas ornament tags

Some interesting tags on a Christmas present, can create the little extra on a Christmas present. Here, I have used an acrylic ornament to create two dome tags. The ornament is 7cm in diameter.

These dome tags, are quite simple to make, and here, they have been created with the new Christmas collection from Maja - I wish.

One of the sheets of papers, has got small snowmen on them. These has been fussy cut, and glued on with 3D foam tape. More more depth has been created in the dome, using several layers of 3D foam under one of the snowmen.

The domes, has also been filed with small styrofoam balls. These has been created by dismanteling a small piece of styrofam. The dome tags - has a simple "to and from" stamp at the back,

The greatest adventure - a baby box

The Peek a Boo collection comes in a baby girl or a baby boy collection. I have created a box for a baby with the baby boy collection. This collection is full of airplanes, building blocks and vintage prams. The baby building blocks and airplanes in the papers, gave me inspiration for this box.

The box has been made from scratch, adding feet and handles at the side.

The plane propeller, has been added with a brad and turns around.

The small building block, have been made from paper. The letters has been cut with a silhouette.

The little cloud on the lid, under the plane, has been made using the paper from the small paper pad. The cloud has been added, using 3D foam tape.

The little box has an album inside. The album was featured in an earlier post this month.

I always decorate my boxes inside. The inside of the box shows one of the airplanes on the paper, that inspired me to create the plane.

Mixed media - the process from old bits and bobs to a picture

Today, I have written an article about mixed media for the magazine "The Papercrafting". The article is in Norwegian and you can find it here.

I am also showing the project here in the blog, however, I have not translated the article.

The picture is 23cm x 50cm. The photo is taken at Torstranda in Larvik.

Materials used:

This mixed media picture, is made from an old IKEA fram, Finnabair papers and left over bits and bobs together with flowers from Prima and Hobbykunst. Paints and mists are from Kaisercraft and Finnabair.

The bits and bobs has been spraypainted black, and then spraypainted white, making sure some og the black can bee seen in the valleys of the bits and bobs. Then I have started creating the picture.

Video tutorial:

The finished picture:

I have used the colours of the photo as a base for choosing the colours in the picture, orange, yellow and pink. I have used the black colours as a contrast.

The bits and bobs has been dry painted with a different colours.

You can just about see the stencil and stamp effects, created on the background.

The frame was spray painted black, to create some contrast to the picture. I mounted a piece of MDF at the back of the frame, to give the mixed media picture some stability. Gluing metal and bits and bobs to paper, makes it quite heavy. Therefore, you got to make sure the paper has more support. The paper has been stuck to the MDF with acrylic medium, cover the back of the paper.

Mini album for a baby boy

The Peek a Boo Collection from Kaisercraft is so sweet. You can get collections for a baby boy or collections for a baby girl. I use the collections for a boy, for this album. This collection is full of small building blocks, small planes, baby toys and vintage prams.

I have created a small mini album for the baby's first year. There is space for a photo for each month during the first year. The front of the album has a shaker box with beads and wooden embellishments.

The album pages:

The pages are very simply decorated. I have used papers from the 6x6 paper pad and die cuts from the collectables, for the pages.

A vintage Christmas star, with die cuts

Hobbykunst, has got some fantastic stars from Rayher in the shop. The stars are 14cm in diameter, and can be opened to be decorated inside. Here, I have decorated one of the stars with diecuts from Rayher and papers from Kaisercraft.

The houses has been made with the die - Winter Birdhouse. The pine needles, has been made with a die from the same brand. Thse dies are fantastic to cut with, and a really good quality.

The star itself, is quite thin. But it's still a lot of space for building 3D inside the ornament.

The paper in the background is from one of Kaisercrafts new Christmas collections, Christmas Wishes. Kaisercraft has a fantatic set of quotes on their paper collections, and I just love using them. One of the quotes has been used on the back of the star.
